“We stayed at the Hansel and Gretel cabin. It was so quiet and peaceful. We spent the evenings around the campfire listening to the owls. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. Heather took very good care of us and was very knowledgeable about the area. We are already looking forward to our next trip here!”

“Spent the weekend at “Brigadoon”. Very quiet and huge property. Cabin looks exactly the same as shown in their website. Super clean with comfy beds. Exterior needs some work but I believe the team is working on it. Host were extraordinary in responding to our call and providing guidance. Overall our stay was EXCELLENT. I can definitely recommend this place”

“We had a great time at this cabin! It had everything we wanted and then some. It was clean, it was in the woods near a creek and near the lake that we swam and fished at. They had two grills, one for charcoal and one for gas, the gas was full so we didn't have to go into town and get it! There were dishes and kitchen utensils and paper towels and toilet paper and towels and wash rags and soap and shampoo. Clean sheets and blankets on comfortable beds. Nice pillows and more! I read some of the reviews about The Lodge and it made me sad that some people can't look beyond flaws that caused them to not have a good time. If you want perfection, then go pay $1,200 a night at a resort. The hot tub didn't get hot but then again I'm not sure that we were operating it correctly, it was hot enough for us as it was too hot outside to want the water to be super hot anyway. It rained both of the nights that we wanted to use the fire pit so we just played games in the Barn instead . The kids played on the playground, we hiked in the woods and just chilled on the giant deck. Listening to insects, listening to the rain, listening to the rain drop from the leaves.... We had a very nice relaxing getaway! Except for the raccoon! It was a nuisance and made a mess of the grill! Also, if you get the chance, go visit the geode grotto in Jasper and the DuBois County museum, both of them are awesome!”

“We stayed in May and had a beautiful cabin and a great experience. We were sent a message that new owners had just taken over so understandable if some things needed done. Just stayed in a different cabin a few weeks ago and we weren’t as impressed. Our porch and the stairs leading up were rotting and falling apart with caution tape on the railing. Our screen door was ripped. The inside needed work as well. Upstairs didn’t get much air and the fan we were provided was cheap and didn’t work. The room fan was bent. The handsoap was watered down in the bathroom and kitchen. We would stay at the original cabin again as it seems it gets more maintenance and attention. It was a relaxing stay but for the money I was expecting a little more for basic maintenance.”

“Let me start by saying we had an absolutely amazing stay!! The cabin was exactly as pictured. Pros: -Completely private and secluded -Absolutely everything furnished that you need (plus some extras) Cons: (All are minor) -The bedding definitely needed washed. Not dirty, you could just tell it has been sitting for a long time. The bed is VERY firm. Could be replaced -The bathtub could definitely be replaced. You can see where there is lots of water damage. Also, the morning it rained, the tub was full of bugs and spiders. Weird. We had no problems other than that morning -The picnic table (outside) and grill were both broken (there are a couple plastic chairs) Remember that you are staying in the forest. Bring lots of bug repellent and bring firewood!! I know someone just recently bought the property and is doing some amazing improvements. We will definitely be back and can't wait to see what all is done! The whole property has amazing potential!! Thank you for everything!”

“We stayed at The Acorn at White Oak Cabins and had a wonderful time! Everything was clean, well-maintained and comfy. The beds and furniture were comfortable and in great condition. Kitchen is adequate and the water pressure is really strong! The scenery is amazing and it’s really nice to sit on the swing on the enclosed front porch. We were able to pull our boat onto the property and fished at Patoka Lake, boat ramp only 10 minutes away. We made a 25 minute trip to French Lick and had dinner at a wonderful German restaurant. Great cabin, great trip! Already making plans for another visit!”
